Legisalative candidates to speak in Wheeling Twp.

Incumbent GOP state legislators will talk about taxes, pensions and jobs at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the regular meeting of Republicans of Wheeling Township at the party headquarters at 909 E. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. The meeting is open to the public at no charge. Slated to appear are State Sen. Matt Murphy and State Representatives David Harris, Tom Morrison and Sidney Mathias, each of whom represents a section of Wheeling Township or is seeking re-election in the township. “The General Assembly had a brief session in August and will be going back to Springfield shortly after the Nov. 6 election. We want to hear from our own lawmakers what they have been doing, how they are voting and what they expect in the lameduck session,” said township GOP committeewoman Ruth O’Connell.
