Monkey Zone Donates $6,000 in Free Passes to Brighten Birthdays of Needy Children in Humanitarian Service Project's Program
The Monkey Zone, 110 N. 25th Avenue, Melrose Park, IL 60163, donated $6,000 in free passes for impoverished children in the Humanitarian Service Project's (HSP) Children's Birthday Project program. The Carol Stream-based charity has a number of programs that benefit impoverished children, seniors and families in DuPage and Kane counties. Monkey Zone is a 32,000 square foot indoor playspace that specializes in parties for kids 2-12 and features 15 inflatables and 4 party rooms.
“After reading an article about the HSP's good works in the community, we decided that we wanted to contribute the charity's Children's Birthday Project program and help these needy kids have a great birthday,” said Brett Ross of Monkey Zone. The company also owns Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix in Melrose Park and Safari Land in Villa Park. Karole Kettering, Executive Director of the HSP, said, “We are thrilled to have a new partner in Monkey Zone to help provide a wonderful birthday for the needy children we serve. It is so important for these young people to know that there are people and companies in the community who care about them.”
The donation will be used for HSP's Children's Birthday Project which provides a needy child ages 3-12 with a 25-30 lb. Birthday Box containing 6 new books, 6-15 new toys, stuffed animals, one new game, various other gifts such as bubbles, card games, mini toys, school supplies, and a Party-in-a-Box filled with all the items necessary to have a birthday party. The charity delivers the child's birthday package the week of their birthday, and provides a memorable “Special Day” for an impoverished child in our community. A sponsorship for a child is only $54 and also includes gifts at Christmas-time, back-to-school supplies, and the child's family becomes eligible for the HSP's summer-time Feed the Kids Program as well.
