Continuing Education Moves to New Offices in July, Offers Free Sampler Day in August
Continuing Education/Extended Learning at College of DuPage will open its doors on Monday, July 23, at its new location in the Student Resource Center.
During the week of July 16, the office will move from its current location in Building K to newly remodeled space in SRC 1111, located on the first floor next to the College's main cafeteria. The new space will contain classroom spaces for a wide variety of enrichment and developmental offerings, common areas and staff offices.
Continuing Education also will host a Sampler Day of free classes for the community beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, to showcase the new location and kick off the fall term.
“We are excited to move to our new space on campus,” said Cristina Willard, program development specialist. “The location will bring the Continuing Education team together in a place that's easy to find.”
The new area will feature:
Seven classrooms and one computer lab tailored to Continuing Education/Extended Learning classes and students
A dedicated health care training classroom for the Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Veterinary Assistant and new Massage Therapy programs, as well as five massage training rooms
A “living room” just inside the main entrance that will allow lifelong learners of all ages to meet, relax and share ideas
An open reception area for easy check-ins and registration
A dedicated English as a Second Language testing lab
Parking can be found south of the SRC, and a drive-through circle near the door provides for easy drop-offs and pick-ups.
“The space also provides easier access to the cafeteria, Library, Bookstore and other on-campus services, as we'll be located in the heart of campus,” Willard said. “We invite our students and the community to drop by after we move and check out our new space.”
During the week of July 16, students and the community will have limited access to staff. For more information about Continuing Education/Extended Learning, call (630) 942-2208.
