The St. Francis High School Athletic Association's seventh annual golf outing will be June 16 at Prairie Landing Golf Club, 2325 Longest Drive, West Chicago. The cost is $195 per golfer, which includes golf, lunch and dinner. Tickets for dinner and post-golf activities only cost $40. Proceeds will benefit the school's athletic programs. The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association's annual women's golf outing will be June 16 at Naperbrook Golf Course, 22204 W. 111th St., Plainfield. Dine Away Hunger, an event to support the People's Resource Center food pantry, will be June 18. Participating restaurants will donate 10 percent of that day's food sales to the PRC, a Wheaton-based, not-for-profit organization that helps needy DuPage County residents with food, clothing, rent assistance, literacy and computer training, art enrichment and more. The Villagers of Bloomingdale Garden Walk will be from 1 to 5 p.m. July 20 at a variety of gardens throughout the village. Tickets cost $10 and may be purchased the day of the event at Bloomingdale Village Hall, 201 S. Bloomingdale Road. Raffle tickets also will be sold; the cost is two for $1. Prizes will include gift certificates and items donated by local businesses. Proceeds will benefit local charities, such as Family Shelter Services of Wheaton; Humanitarian Service Project of Carol Stream; Volunteer Council of Bloomingdale Township and Bloomingdale VFW Post 7639. The DuPage Habitat for Humanity golf outing fundraiser will be Aug. 11 at Klein Creek Golf Course, 1N333 Pleasant Hill Road, Winfield. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon, cocktails at 5 p.m. and dinner, raffle and awards at 6 p.m. The cost is $150 per person and $600 per foursome, which includes a welcome bag, lunch, greens fees, cart and dinner. The Hinsdale Humane Society is in need of foster care volunteers. Participants will provide temporary homes for pets in need of extra care and attention until they are adopted.
