Chamber Music on the Fox presents live music with film at Elgin Short Film Festival

In collaboration with the Elgin Short Film Festival, Chamber Music on the Fox presents a screening of Charlie Chaplin's "The Tramp" along with a live chamber music performance to accompany the silent movie. With a brand new score written for the centennial of this classic film from the silent era, the performance will combine an old film (from 1915) with a new piece of music composed by Daron Hagen (in 2015).

The performance will take place as part of the Elgin Short Film Festival events on Saturday, Sept. 23. It will feature a seven-piece ensemble including internationally acclaimed pianist Yana Reznik.

"We are thrilled about being a part of such a culturally rich festival, and are delighted to be bringing live music to a program that has traditionally been only film," said Sara Sitzer, Chamber Music on the Fox co-artistic director.

The performance will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Hemmens Cultural Center, shortly before the Elgin Short Film Festival's red carpet reception.

Admission to "The Tramp" is included with the purchase of a $7 ticket to the Film Festival. To purchase tickets to the festival, visit the Hemmens box office, call (847) 931-5900, or go online to www.hemmens.org.
