Public Invited to Describe Ideal New President for College of DuPage at Two Open Forums on Monday, Dec. 14
Dec. 4, 2015 - College of DuPage is asking both College and community members to weigh in on the qualities they would like to see in the next COD president.
The College will host two public forums to gather input on Monday, Dec. 14. COD's Presidential Search Committee has asked noted former WFLD-TV journalist Anne Kavanagh to lead two sessions to receive ideas at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, in the Student Services Center (SSC), Room 2206, on the College's main campus in Glen Ellyn.
"All are welcome to describe their ideal," Kavanagh said. "We have three rules: We are talking about COD's future, not its past. We prefer specifics. And we will focus on education, administration and interpersonal relationships."
There is no 'right' or 'wrong' answer. All sessions will be recorded. Ideas can be submitted on paper if preferred. The College will live-stream these sessions so community members can watch at home and then send in their ideas via email at: PresSearchInput@cod.edu.
"My job is to keep the conversation moving so COD hears from as many people as possible," Kavanagh said. "The committee will build a profile based on these expressions that will serve as a goal or ideal for the search."
Some search committee members and trustees are expected to attend to hear the public's ideas firsthand.
"I am honored to assist COD in this important next step towards its very bright future," Kavanagh said.
Questions about the input sessions may also be addressed to: PresSearchInput@cod.edu. For more information, please view the Presidential Search page at: www.cod.edu/presidential_search.
