COD Chaparral Gridders Take On ASA Avengers in Carrier Dome Bowl Nov. 22

On the heels of last year’s win at the Citizens Bank Bowl and a 7-3 season, the College of DuPage Chaparrals travel to Syracuse, N.Y., next week to face the ASA Avengers in the 2013 Carrier Dome Bowl.

The 20th-ranked Chaparral gridders face off against the 10th-ranked Avengers in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Carrier Dome on the Syracuse University campus.

COD’s Chaparrals had an impressive season under new Head Coach Matt Foster. Two of the team’s three losses came with match ups against conference rival Iowa Western.

The Carrier Dome Bowl, started in 2012, is sponsored by the Northeast Football Conference and sanctioned by the National Junior College Athletic. The 49,252-seat sports stadium is the only domed stadium in the Northeast and is the largest structure of its kind on a college campus in the country. The Carrier Dome Bowl is only one of two NJCAA bowls being hosted in a NCAA Division I facility.
