COD teams with Pace RideShare Carpool Service

College of DuPage has signed on with the Pace RideShare program to encourage students to carpool to campus. Pace RideShare is an online service that helps students and employees with similar travel needs connect to form carpools.

With more than 30,000 students taking classes at the College of DuPage Glen Ellyn campus each term, the Pace RideShare program decreases traffic and parking congestion, saves gas, and frees up time spent driving and looking for parking spaces.

Connecting COD to Pace RideShare was the brainchild of Alexis Reisch, a second-year Honors Student and Presidential Scholar at the College.

“The idea popped up during my commute to campus,” Reisch said. “I knew many students would be interested in carpooling if there was an easy way to connect with other students. Working on investigating options and implementing the Pace RideShare program on campus has been an exciting experience. The positive feedback from students has made our work worth the effort.”
