COD/Benedictine U. announce 3+1 Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
College of DuPage and Benedictine University have announced the details of a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 3 +1 Program, which is open to COD students and alumni who have earned the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. Applications are currently being accepted for enrollment in this program.
The entire program will be completed at College of DuPage's main campus in Glen Ellyn. The first 83 hours of this program are taught by COD instructors and are offered at COD tuition rates. The remaining 37 hours of Benedictine University BSN degree completion courses are taught by Benedictine instructors at the COD campus at a reduced rate of $280 per tuition hour.
“This is an extremely cost-effective and convenient opportunity for COD Nursing students to seamlessly earn their BSN degree, which is quickly becoming the industry standard for this profession,” said Dr. Jean V. Kartje, College of DuPage Vice President of Academic Affairs. “College of DuPage and Benedictine University have enjoyed a solid and productive relationship for many years. This latest initiative will result in the training of future generations of nurses who are greatly needed within our community and the population at large.”

Taylor, Ph.D., Benedictine University Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, “Benedictine University's BSN program is continually recognized for its rigorous academic quality and integrity including being one of only two programs in the state to have received grant awards from the Illinois Board of Higher Education for three consecutive years to expand the program to meet workforce needs in the Chicago region. Through this new partnership, we will continue to be able to make this stellar program more accessible to students of all ages.”
The College of DuPage Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. (NLNAC). In addition, the College's ADN program has been approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation/Board of Nursing and the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB).
Benedictine University also offers an RN-to-BSN completion program, which is specifically designed for the working R.N. who is juggling multiple life priorities, and an online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. Both are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
