COD College Lecture Series hosts economist Richard Wolff March 29

American economist, author and radio host Richard Wolff presents his views on the current national economic crisis at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, as part of the College of DuPage Lecture Series.

Wolff's presentation takes place on the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at the College's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

“Crises of Capitalism” chronicles the mounting costs the on-going economic crisis has on the majority of the population and the movement that has formed to confront and change the existing economic system.

Richard Wolff has a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and is professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He currently is a visiting professor in the graduate program in International Affairs of the New School University in New York City. He has developed a new approach to political economics over the last 25 years and his views borrow from the Marxist notion of class as surplus labor.

Wolff has presented at institutions throughout the country and hosts “Economic Update,” a weekly radio program.

He has written 10 books, including “Capitalism Hits the Fan: The Global Economic Meltdown and What to Do About It,” and regularly collaborates with fellow economist Stephen Resnick.

The College Lecture Series is supported by the COD Office of Academic Affairs and the Ron Lemme College Lecture Series Fund at College of DuPage Foundation and is sponsored by the College Lecture Series Committee.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for College of DuPage students and youth.
