Dumoulins lead ECC to win
Cassie and Alex Dumoulin are at it again.
After scoring over 2,000 combined points for Hampshire’s girls basketball program, the Dumoulin sisters are reunited this season at Elgin Community College, and if Tuesday’s season opener is any indication of things to come, the Spartans could be putting some people in the Events Center seats in the upcoming months.
The Dumoulins scored 21 points each and South Elgin product Dijon Smith added 15 as ECC rolled to a 91-47 win over Triton. Cassie, a sophomore, and her freshman sister Alex, combined to go 14-for-19 at the free-throw line in the win.
Downers Grove South alum Carly Saraceno added 18 points for ECC and Dundee-Crown grad Megan Fasanella had 9.
Men’s basketball
MCC 72, Rock Valley 63: Mershon Wilkes had 15 points and Eric Wilde added 14 to lead McHenry County College to a win in its season opener. Jemarkus Lovett added 12 points while Jonelle Kent and LeBarron Hull had 10 each for the Scots.
Women’s volleyball
Judson d. Purdue-Calumet: Carissa Oelke had a career-high 28 kills as Judson (10-25, 4-8) finished its season with a 25-21, 28-26, 22-25, 25-13. Oelke added 20 digs for her 17th double-double of the season and her fourth 20-20 game.
