The quick hit: The Blazers' Anthony Catanese - playing receiver, running back and quarterback last week - accounted for 162 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Morton, coming off a win over Willowbrook, already boasts its most wins since going 2-7 in 2002.
Benet (2-1. 0-1) at Notre Dame (2-1, 0-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
The quick hit: E.J. Howe's 116 rushing yards and Nick Mankowski's 179 passing yards helped continue Benet's trend of offensive balance last week, although the Redwings still lost to Marian Catholic. Notre Dame hasn't beaten a team with a winning record.
Downers Grove South (1-2) at Downers Grove North (1-2)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
The quick hit: After no passing yards against Willowbrook, Trojans quarterback Riley McGinnis threw for 150 yards last week. Downers South receivers Ryan Oruche and Ryan Smith are nursing injuries, leaving talented back Josh Wiliams to carry the offense.
East Aurora (0-3, 0-1) at Neuqua Valley (2-1, 1-0)

The quick hit: Wildcats coach Bryan Wells thought 2010 may see more reliance on the pass. Back Trent Snyder, tackle Jordan Young (6-3, 302) have taken the pressure off QB Jeff Samuels. Snyder hasn't been tackled for a loss while rushing for 602 yards, 8 TDs.
Glenbard South (1-2) at Peoria Richwoods (3-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
The quick hit: Glenbard South's independent schedule takes the Raiders down to Peoria after they exploded for a huge win last week. The Raiders piled up 380 rushing yards as John Hentges, Matt Loos and Jessie Larabee ran for nearly 100 yards apiece.
Guerin (2-1, 0-1) at Immaculate Conception (2-1, 0-1)
Game time: 1 p.m. Saturday, Plunkett Park, Elmhurst
The quick hit: The Knights return quarterback Cody Kotlow (minor concussion) and none too soon after their 42-0 loss to St. Edward. James Peachey, Andre Wells, Matt Hornstra, Bryan Palermo and Co. must pursue and tackle to limit Guerin back Justin Williams.
Hinsdale Central (1-2, 0-1) at Lyons Township (3-0, 1-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
The quick hit: The Red Devils face their third unbeaten team in four games after piling up only 130 total yards in last week's loss to Glenbard West. The Lions, who rallied to a 35-28 victory over Downers North last week, are averaging 38 points per game.
Leyden (1-2, 0-1) vs. Hinsdale South (1-2, 0-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today at Hinsdale Central.
The quick hit: Short-handed Hinsdale South struggled offensively last week while amassing only 100 total yards in a 35-8 loss to Addison Trail. Ryan Johnson, however, continued his tremendous season by grabbing an interception and recovering a fumble.
Naperville North (2-1, 0-1) at West Aurora (2-1, 0-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
The quick hit: Injuries to quarterback Matt LaCosse and running back Antonio Owens slowed the Huskies in their loss to Glenbard North. Coach Sean Drendel says LaCosse should return tonight. Running back Nick Sianta's return to the lineup was a major boost.
Oak Park (1-2, 0-1) at Glenbard West (3-0, 1-0)
Game time: 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The quick hit: Although a dozen players missed last week's win over Hinsdale Central, the Hilltoppers put in perhaps their best performance of the season. Safety Mike Laning has been dominant in the Hilltoppers' secondary, notching 38 tackles in three games.
Proviso West (3-0, 1-0) at York (3-0, 1-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
The quick hit: Last year's loss to Proviso West wound up costing the Dukes a spot in the playoffs, a win tonight brings York a step closer. Five turnovers were the difference last year. A 205-yard rushing effort last week gives Ryan Kent 520 yards and 9 TDs.
Ridgewood (0-3, 0-0) at Fenton (1-2, 0-0)
Game time: 7 p.m. today.
The quick hit: The Metro Suburban Conference schedule finally begins as both sides look to recover from rough weeks. Combined, Ridgewood and Fenton lost by a total of 88 points. Fenton's offense had two of its best games last season while sweeping the Rebels.
South Elgin (3-0, 1-0) at Metea Valley (1-2, 1-0)

The quick hit: After Metea Valley rapped East Aurora 39-6 for the Mustangs' first varsity win ever, here comes the Upstate Eight Valley favorite. Metea back Tre'Sean Mackey will try to revisit last week's 99 yards, 3 TDs, linebacker Donovan Rowsey his 2 sacks.
West Chicago (1-2, 0-1) at Glenbard East (2-1, 0-1)

The quick hit: A rotation of up to six fresh running backs is proving to be effective for Glenbard East, which managed 140 rushing yards in a loss to WW South. West Chicago rushed for 160 yards, but the Wildcats were hampered by nearly 100 yards in penalties.
Willowbrook (0-3, 0-1) at Proviso East (0-3, 0-0)
Game time: 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The quick hit: Willowbrook's six sophomore starters continue to improve, and more encouragement for the Warriors came in last week's defensive effort that resulted in only 175 yards allowed. That's bad news for the Pirates, who have scored only 6 points.
Wilmington (3-0, 1-0) at Lisle (1-2, 1-0)
Game time: 7:15 p.m. today, Benedictine University, Lisle
The quick hit: Jeremy Bailey and powerful Wilmington face a Lions team that earned its first win last week, 21-13 over Westmont in its Interstate Eight Conference Small Division opener. Good news: Lisle's defense has given up just 567 yards in three games.
