Carol Stream's Summer in the Center runs from 6 to 10 p.m. June 5, 6 to 11 p.m. June 6, noon to 11 p.m. June 7 and noon to 10 p.m. June 8 at Town Center, Gary Avenue and Lies Road. Sidekicks Square Dance Club will hold a multifamily garage sale from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7 at 906 Cedar Ave., near the corner of Butterfield Road and Cedar Avenue, Elmhurst.

The second annual Lexus of Naperville Jazz Festival will be June 6-8 in Central Park, Benton and Court streets, Naperville. Headliners include Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Friday, the Yellowjackets Saturday and Ross Bon and Mighty Blue Kings Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the Heritage YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign and the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation. Reserved tickets cost 33 and lawn seats cost $19. The York Center Park District's Battle of the Bands will be from 5:30 to 9:45 p.m. June 5 in the park district's gym, 1609 S. Luther Ave., Lombard. The Wheaton Municipal Band will kick off its summer concert season at 8 p.m. June 5 at Memorial Park, Hale Street and Karlskoga Avenue, Wheaton. The Kiwanis Club of Lombard's annual house walk, "Over the Threshold: A Tour of Distinctive Lombard Homes," will be June 6 at six homes. Tours will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. All guests also may attend a reception with designers and homeowners from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave. Tickets cost $25 and proceeds will benefit local charities supported by Kiwanis and the club's scholarship fund. The Villa Park Fishing Club's Family Fishing Derby will be June 7 at North Terrace Lagoon, 300 N. Westmore Ave., Villa Park. There will be a casting contest at 9 a.m., followed by the fishing derby from 10 a.m. to noon. A ranger from the DuPage County Forest Preserve will be on hand to answer questions about local wildlife. No fishing license is required, but participants must bring their own tackle and bait.
