Sept. 26 is deadline for CLC's 'Recent Works' exhibit

The deadline to submit online entry forms for the College of Lake County's 37th Annual Recent Works: A Juried Competition exhibit is Tuesday, Sept. 26. Entry forms and images can be uploaded from the entry website, www.clcillinois.edu/callforentries, which includes detailed information on artwork specifications and deadlines.

Approximately $2,000 in cash prizes and purchase awards will be given to artists selected for the exhibit, on view at CLC's Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art. An opening reception with award announcements will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in the gallery, with live music and refreshments. The exhibit will run through Nov. 11.

Artists who are 18 or older and live or work in Lake County may submit up to three entries of original work completed in the past two years that have never been shown in the CLC gallery. Entry fees for one to three pieces are $20 or $15 for Friends of the Gallery members.

Accepted works are due to the Gallery from 2-5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10. For information, call (847) 543-2040.

Gallery membership dues of $30 can be paid on the entry website or submitted by check to the Communication Arts, Humanities and Fine Arts division in Room B213, attention Melanie Kessler.

The Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art on the Grayslake Campus is at 19351 W. Washington St.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays; the gallery is closed Sundays. Hours vary during college breaks and between semesters.
