Learn about Holocaust story with author Marty Brounstein June 11

On Sunday, June 11, First Congregational Church of Elgin, 256 E. Chicago St., will host Marty Brounstein, author of "Two Among the Righteous Few: A Story of Courage in the Holocaust," during the 8:15 and 10:15 a.m. services.

Brounstein will share a true interfaith story of courage, compassion, and rescue about a Christian couple in the Netherlands named Frans and Mien Wijnakker. They were parents of young children themselves who, despite much risk and danger, saved the lives of over two dozen Jews during the Holocaust and World War II. Brounstein also has a meaningful personal connection to the story and its heroes, which he reveals in his inspirational storytelling presentation.

Brounstein has been on an unexpected journey in sharing this special story in a wide variety of venues and over a dozen other cities beyond his home base of the San Francisco Bay Area for the past six years. He has become, as audiences say, an author on a journey with a mission.

For those interested in getting the book, it will be available for sale ($15) and signing at the conclusion of each service. For information, call (847) 741-4045 or go to www.fcc-elgin.org.
