Festival of Flight Air Show takes off Saturday

Fox Valley Aero Club will host its 11th annual Festival of Flight Air Show starting at 9 a.m. until dusk Saturday, Aug. 6.

They invite all who enjoy RC planes and RC flight demonstrations to join in a day of flying at the Fox Valley Aero Club flying field located at 3821 Karl Madsen Drive, St. Charles. The field is located near Route 38 and Peck Road.

This is a fun-fly event with all types and sizes of radio-controlled aircraft. There will be continuous exhibition flights that will include giant scale aircraft (some with wing spans more than 15 feet) along with a noontime air show.

Spectators will see a dogfight of World War I biplanes, a squadron of World War II fighters and a variety of stunt planes filling the sky with smoke trails.

For the spectators, there is an entrance fee of $5 a person and children ages 12 and younger are free. Seating is available, but spectators can bring their own chairs if desired. Concessions will be available.
