Chinese artist Chen Jun exhibit at Lakeside Art Park

Mr. Jun Chen's art show had a very successful grand opening reception at Lakeside Legacy Art Park on Aug. 1. Jun Chen is a well-known artist from mainland China, famous for painting like ink pen art that reproduces and preserves the memorial of historical villages. He also developed a practical way of painting art by using colorful markers to express the nature.

Close to 200 guests came to the reception, among them are artists, art collectors, and some family friends. Lots of the guests lingering around Jun's ink arts and amazed at the details expressed by the ink pen painting in art. Many visitors and friends bought books and art prints to their treasure.

Chen was born at Linyi, Shanxi, in 1938, now lives in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. He is a famous painter and designer, member of Shaanxi province Artists Association. He was former vice chairman of Interior Decoration Institute of Shaanxi province, chairman of Shaanxi branch of China Zhang Guangyu Decorative Painting Association, board member and adviser of Shaanxi province International Culture Promotion Association, art adviser of Xi'an International Cultural Exchange Center.

Chen was born in an artistic family, his father was the famous calligraphers and painting master Chen, Zhizhong. Mr. Chen, Jun was guaranteed to be enrolled in Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts thanks to his excellent academic achievement in high school in 1958. He graduated from the university in two years attributed to his outstanding accomplishment. His representative work in high school "Celebrate Leap Years" was published by Shaanxi People's Fine Arts Press. His creative art work "Rising Sun" was selected to participate in the World University Art Show at Paris in 1959. Mr. Chen graduated and taught in Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1960. He worked in Shaanxi province Museum in 1961, in charge of overall design of museums and exhibitions.

Mr. Chen is an optimistic, cheerful and open-mind artist. His achievements of architectural interior design and art design included the outstanding landmarks: Shenzhen Shekou Terracotta Warriors Museum, Shaanxi History Museum, Zhengzhou Zhongyuan Petroleum Building, Greenland Hotel, Dalian Ten Continents Cloud and Water Hotel, etc.

Mr. Chen has deep understanding and profound knowledge of painting skills. He has devoted to research and creation on ink pen painting and marker pen painting since 2005. He paid more attention to those declining streets, houses, towns and villages, tried to protect those historical figures with his paintings. He expressed his passion and enthusiasm with his paintings on human feelings and nostalgia to the wonderful time.

Mr. Chen's paintings in decorative arts and designs are on the basis of the traditional ink painting, enrich and broaden the pen painting performance. He used an innovative attempt in artistic aspects. It is a breakthrough creation and a milestone in ink pen painting and marker pen painting. His art works have significant and artistic values. About 100 master pieces of Mr. Jun Chen's paintings were displayed at the Shaanxi province Museum together with the art works of his father Mr. Zhizhong Chen and his elder brother Mr. Ming Chen in April 2013. It was an outstanding and major event in the painting and calligraphy groups.

The show is organized and coordinated by his niece, Melinda Chen, a local resident in northern suburb of Chicago, who just started to learn painting. She wants to build a bridge to promote art, culture and strengthen the relationship between American and Chinese artists.

Lakeside Legacy Art Part is located by the beautiful lakeside of Crystal Lake. The show will exhibit from through Aug. 26 at the gallery, 410 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake.
