Waterleaf to Host Mother's Day Brunch May 11

Waterleaf Restaurant in Glen Ellyn invites guests to celebrate Mother's Day with an elegant three-course prix fixe brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 11.

This exclusive event's menu will include a choice of starters, entrées and desserts at a price of $38 for adults and $16 for children 12 and under plus taxes and gratuities.

"We are delighted to provide this opportunity for people to celebrate Mother's Day with elegance, ambiance and culinary selections made up of only the freshest, seasonal ingredients," said Waterleaf General Manager Jean-Pierre Leroux. "Chef Nadia Tilkian has prepared a wonderful menu that is certain to give Mom a day she won't soon forget."

First course choices will include Croque Madame; Chicken Liver Terrine; Smoked Salmon with grated egg and roasted corn soup, capers, onion and dill-horseradish sauce; Bacon and Egg Casserole with petit salad; Beet Salad with upland cress, hazelnuts, Pleasant Ridge Reserve artisanal cheese and lemon crème fraîche; Frittata with potatoes; and Grand Marnier French Toast with berry compote.

Second course selections include Amish Chicken Breast with ginger sauce; Halibut with warm fingerling potato-fennel salad; Pan Roasted Salmon with champagne sauce; Petit Filet with champignon sauce, dauphinoise potato and asparagus; Roasted Duck Breast with blackberry sauce; and Roasted Pork Tenderloin with sweet potato and roasted apricots.

Following the meal, guests can choose from a variety of desserts such as Crème Brulée with fresh berries; Chocolate Pave with salted caramel ice cream; Lemon Mousse with blueberries and candied almonds; Sorbets with berry coulis; and Strawberry Shortcake with crème anglaise.

The 150-seat restaurant, led by General Manager Jean-Pierre Leroux and Executive Chef Nadia Tilkian, is located on the College of DuPage campus in the Culinary & Hospitality Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Featuring moderately priced brunch, lunch and dinner options, the restaurant's menu contains offerings developed with locally locally-sourced ingredients. The contemporary light-filled dining room has modern décor and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a beautiful view of a scenic lake. Its walls display a collection of black-and-white lithographs by renowned American artist Richard Serra, and there is a cozy bar area to enjoy cocktails and light snacks.
