Hoffman Estates tops Bartlett for 1st win

The Hoffman Estates girls volleyball team notched its first win of the season on Wednesday with an 18-25, 25-17, 29-27 victory over visiting Bartlett.

Leading the Hawks (1-2) on attack were seniors Clare Shaffer (13 kills, 4 blocks) and Sarah Wille (10 kills) while senior setter Renee Clemment handed out 16 assists.

Hawks senior Kaileen Hendle was 11-of-12 serving with 3 aces while classmate Isabella Zach had 12 digs.

St. Viator d. Regina: Senior outside hitter Megan Mueller put down 11 kills with 3 aces and classmate Mary Cleary added 6 kills with 3 blocks as the Lions posted a 25-17, 27-25 nonconference triumph.

Senior setter Molly Ziegler collected 15 assists while sophomore Ellie Meyer led the back row with 10 digs for the Lions who improved to 3-3.
