Evak homers twice in Neuqua Valley comeback win

Neuqua Valley 9, East Aurora 7:

Jeff Evak's 2 home runs and 6 RBI helped the Wildcats (11-6, 8-3) overcome a 7-3 deficit in their Upstate Eight Valley Conference victory. Nine players had hits for Neuqua Valley. Danny Mokrzycki was the winning pitcher with 4 innings of relief.

Naperville Central 8, West Aurora 4:

Jimmy Nashert went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI as the Redhawks (11-4, 6-2) capped the three-game DuPage Valley Conference sweep. Blake Butler had 2 hits while Jeff Schank and Brendan Daley drove in 2 runs. Pat Maloney pitched 4 innings for the win and Zach Aranoff earned the save.

WW South 6, West Chicago 3:

Rich O'Neil went 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored for the Tigers (11-7, 6-3) in their DuPage Valley Conference win. Winning pitcher Connor Ostrander improved to 3-1. Ryan Koester, A.J. Seidler and Antonio Solis drove in runs for West Chicago (3-12, 0-7).

St. Francis 7, Guerin 5:

The Spartans (8-7, 6-3) followed a 5-run fourth inning with a 2-run fifth to pull out the Suburban Christian Conference victory. Jack Ciombor drove in 2 runs and had one of St. Francis' 3 hits. Winning pitcher Andrew Brundage threw 3 innings of relief.

Willowbrook 1, Downers North 0:

The Warriors (7-7) scored the game's only run in the bottom of the sixth when Mike Rothmund's sacrifice fly brought home Dom Battaglia. Complete-game winner Dave Cericola struck out seven and walked three in a 3-hitter. Losing pitcher Danny Miller allowed only 2 hits over 6 innings for Downers North (12-3).

Addison Trail 15, Glenbard West 9:

A 10-run third inning highlighted the offensive outburst by the Blazers (6-11). Ten players had hits including Rocco Costabile's 2-for-4 effort with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. Giancarlo Loiotile, Mike Cacioppo and winning pitcher Zack Dowz drove in 2 runs apiece. Mitch Monocchio homered and had 3 RBI for Glenbard West (6-11).

Downers South 5, Lyons Twp. 1:

Complete-game winning pitcher Brian Glowicki (3-1) scattered 6 hits as the Mustangs (16-3) claimed the West Suburban crossover victory. Zach Taylor, Danny Mayer, Alex Galik and Matt Zinnecker had 2 hits apiece for the Mustangs.

York 8, Leyden 1:

Keon Hackney allowed 4 hits and struck out five in a complete-game victory for the Dukes (8-9). Pete Doughty, Tyler Zunkel and Kevin Toomey had 2 hits apiece.
