BG wins Showdown against Oswego
Kelli Zickert scored 2 goals, one on an assist from Allie Ingham, as the Bison topped Oswego 3-1 at Saturday’s opening round of the Pepsi Showdown at Olympic Park in Schaumburg.
Sara Busse, getting an assist from Skylar Groth, had the other goal for BG which got the win behind goalkeeper Kirsten Erickson.
Coach Pat Dudle’s Bison improved to 8-0-1 for the season.
Rolling Meadows 4, Dundee-Crown 3: Rolling Meadows scored all its goals in the first half in the Lake Park/Rolling Meadows tournament game. The Mustangs collected 6 saves in the win.
Hersey 2, Wheaton North 0: Hersey scored twice in the first half with goals fromRenePoulos and Kayla Knauss. Lauren Gierman had the assists on both.
Junior goalkeeper Morgan Harris made 7 saves for the Huskies.
St. Viator 2, Providence 0: Chloe Luthringshausen (assist to Lauren Kohn) and Micaela Lonigro scored second-half goals to lift St. Viator to the shutout behind goalkeeper Sam Stanley, who made 3 saves.
Naperville Central 1, Schaumburg 0: Abby Joyce’s first-half goal, on an assist from Sabrina Cisneros, was the difference in the St. Charles East Tournament game.
Tressa Palcheck made 10 saves for Schaumburg while Abby Hershik stopped 4 shots for Naperville Central.
