The Streamwood boys basketball team split its games Monday at the MLK Classic at Lake Zurich, beating Harlem 52-51 and falling to Niles North 58-30.
Joel Lightbourne led the Sabres with 18 points in the win over Harlem. Trevious Norman added 11 points.
Norman had 7 points to lead Streamwood (8-14) against Niles North.
Westminster Christian 52, Holy Trinity 39: Will Woodhouse poured in 18 points and Aaron Wiewel added 13 as the Warriors won at the MLK Basketball Classic at Concordia University. Colin Brandon added 8 points for Westminster (10-10), which won its third straight.
Jacobs falls twice:Jacobs suffered a pair of losses at the Hononegah MLK Tournament Monday. The Golden Eagles were thumped 62-29 by Normal West in the morning game and dropped a 61-52 decision against Normal Community in the afternoon.Jacobs (9-10) returns to Fox Valley Conference Valley Division action at Prairie Ridge tonight at 7 p.m. However, the Golden Eagles will take the floor without leading scorer Will Schwerdtmann (12.5 ppg). He was whistled for a flagrant foul for elbowing in Monday's game against Normal, which carries an automatic 1-game suspension.
