St. Edward senior gymnast Abby Madden showed Wednesday night she's ready for the postseason.

Competing as an individual at a meet between Batavia, Oswego and DeKalb at Oswego, Madden won three events and placed first in the all-around competition in her final regular-season meet before IHSA regionals begin the week of Jan. 28.

Madden scored a 9.3 on beam, a 9.2 on floor and a 9.75 on the vault, all best scores on those events for the night. She was second on bars with a 9.15 and scored a 37.4 for the all-around to outdistance the competition.

Madden will compete in the ultra-tough Conant regional on Jan. 31. The Conant field includes the Prairie Ridge co-op, which finished third in the state finals last year and features sophomore Rachel Underwood, who was third at state last year in the all-around.
