St. Edward’s Madden wins DeKalb Invite

Competing against some of the best gymnasts in Northern Illinois Friday night, St. Edward senior Abby Madden came out on top.
Madden, who finished 18th in the all-around at state last year, won the all-around competition Friday at the DeKalb Invitational, scoring 36.75.

Madden didn't win any individual events but she did take second on the balance beam (8.75), the bars (9.10) and the vault (9.45), while placing third on the floor (9.45).
She will compete next on Dec. 15 at the Illinois Best Gymnastics Meet at Wheaton Warrenville South.
