Wheeling outlasts St. Viator

Wheeling's girls volleyball team improved to 2-0 with a 15-25, 25-19, 25-20 victory over host St. Viator (2-5) on Monday night.

Seniors Sydney Keith (4 kills), Amanda Mullin (3) and Emily Walker (3) led the Wildcats' attack while Mullin had 14 setting assists and sophomore Deanna Kuzmanic added 13.

Senior Sara Kern led the winners with 15 digs while Keith had a team-high 5 blocks.

Stevenson d. Rolling Meadows: Lake County girls volleyball powerhouse Stevenson defeated host Rolling Meadows 25-21, 25-19.

Junior Ashley Montanez (7-9, 3 kills), junior Lauren Sokolowski (8-10, 3 kills) and senior Rachel Mickey (8-10, 3 kills) led the Mustangs (1-1), who received 8 assists from junior Jenny Vliet (24-25) and 6 from junior Sami Kay (27-29).

Mickey led with 5 blocks, followed by Montanez 4 and Vliet 3.
