It’s time for GOP to lead state legislature

Voters have many reasons to be angry about what is going on — and what is not being done — in Springfield under the leadership of House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton.

In this area, we are well represented by state Reps. David Harris and Sid Mathias and state Sen. Matt Murphy, who are contributing to the solution, not the problem.

And we are working to add state Rep. Tom Morrison and Jonathan Greenberg to the House from Wheeling Township and Arie Friedman and Don Castella to the Senate.

Rarely do voters have an opportunity to re-elect and elect such outstanding, serious, diligent candidates as our lawmakers.

We at Republicans of Wheeling Township welcome more concerned citizens from our area to volunteer for these outstanding candidates and for our national ticket. Our headquarters at 909 E. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. except on Sunday.

We are all watching Springfield with hope for this special session. But our best hope for change is to change the leadership in Springfield, each of us doing our part to give Republicans an opportunity to lead — something our state has not seen in the past 10 years.
