Enjoy 'Concert for the Cure' and a 5K trail run Aug. 18 in McHenry

On Saturday, Aug. 18, the North McHenry Relay For Life Committee has partnered with Stade's Farm & Market, Star 105.5 and Y103.9 in hosting the “Concert For The Cure.”

This daylong event will start at 8 a.m. with a 5K trail run and 1-mile fun run. Online race registration fee is $30 for the 5K for ages 14 and older or $20 for ages 13 and younger; cost for the 1-mile fun run is $10. There is an additional online processing fee.

The concert series will begin at noon with six acts set to perform: Alexis Chancellor, Western Sky Band, Rough Night Out, Kevin Purcell and the Night Burners, American Idol top 10 finalist Gina Glocksen, and the headliners Modern Day Romeos.

Kid's activities and rides, food, beer garden and vendor fair also will be going on during the day.

Tickets are $10 in advance online and $15 at the door.

All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
