Lake Park squeaks out victory

Elgin ace Hannah Perryman struck out 18, but Lake Park scratched across a pair of runs in the sixth inning for a 2-0 win Friday in Elgin. In the sixth Mariah Harper reached on a bunt single, Kelly O'Neill singled and after a wild pitch 2 runs scored on Tara Palandri's push bunt single. Winning pitcher Marilyn Perry (6-4) struck out eight in five innings, allowing 3 hits and a walk for Lake Park (7-7, 4-1 Upstate Eight Conference).

Timothy Christian's Marissa Voss twirled a no-hitter in Elmhurst, striking out 11 in a five-inning win over Chicago Latin. Voss also went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs batted in and Hope Zigterman had 2 doubles and drove in 2 for the Trojans, who put up 8 runs in the fourth inning.

Glenbard West 7, Wheaton North 1:

Jacklyn Tyburk went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI and Meghan Johnson 2-for-3 with a double and drove in 3 for the host Hilltoppers (6-6). Winning pitcher Taylor Langtry (6-3) tossed a three-hitter, striking out nine.

Wheaton Academy 16, Aurora Christian 6:

Marissa Gagliano hit the first pitch of the first inning for a homer, and freshman Jess Bosse was 5-for-5 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 stolen bases for the Warriors. Caitlin Koehler drove in 2 runs and Gina Graff added 3 hits, 2 RBI and 2 steals.
