Outlook: Little was dented last week other than St. Edward's pride. The loss to Aurora Christian came in a Suburban Christian Conference crossover, which didn't affect the team's main ambitions. "Our goals are still intact," Green Wave coach Mike Rolando said. "We want to win the conference, get in the playoffs, and win a home playoff game at Greg True Field. All that stuff is still very much within our grasp." Guerin opened the season with convincing wins against St. Francis de Sales (45-8) and Elmwood Park (40-21), but the defense has struggled in 3 straight losses to Wheaton Academy (55-14), Immaculate Conception (41-34) and Marmion (52-0). The Gators own a size advantage on the lines, but the Green Wave have already offset such advantages several times this season with their athleticism. Still, nothing is taken for granted the week after a loss against a team that has scored 40 points or more on three occasions. "You never know," Rolando said. "In high school sports it depends on who shows up. They took IC to the wire and they were leading serval times in that game before they lost by a touchdown. If they come out and make plays, they can do some damage. Our defense has to be a little more disciplined and remember their responsibilities. And the offense needs a little better execution. We were in position to make some plays last week and didn't execute."
