COD forensics team finishes second at 2018 Novice National Championships

The College of DuPage forensics novice team took second place in both the Division I Sweepstakes and Open Sweepstakes at the 2018 Novice National Championship Tournament at Suffolk University in Boston in March.

Individual winners include: Amy Ayyad of Naperville, fifth place in Informative Speaking; Max Campbell of Villa Park, second place in Informative Speaking and fifth place in Speech to Entertain; Djimon Lewis of Bolingbrook, first place in Poetry Interpretation, second place in Program Oral Interpretation, fourth place in Slam Poetry and fifth place in Individual Speaker Awards; Gavin McDonnell of Naperville, fifth place in Dramatic Interpretation and sixth place in Speech to Entertain; Kelsey Peters of Glen Ellyn, first place in Communication Analysis; Paola Ramos of Warrenville, fifth place in Poetry Interpretation; and Alexandra Weston of Glen Ellyn, sixth place in Poetry Interpretation. Umme Mandviwala of Naperville also competed with the team.

The team was led by coaches Kacy Stevens and Brandon Wood.
