  Several children from a park district day camp watch as Ned Bruns pulls monarch butterflies from a temporary cage to release them in a pollinator garden near village hall. He asked the children to name each one as he placed them on thier arms on Tuesday, July 27. He is a monarch enthusiast who collects monarch eggs from milkweed plants in the wild, nurses them into caterpillars at his Elk Grove Village home, watches them spin a chrysalis and emerge as butterflies before he releases them back into the wild.
