Naperville North outhits Naperville Central

Naperville North 11, Naperville Central 8: The Huskies (23-7, 16-5) smacked 18 hits and broke out to a 7-2 lead after two innings in their DuPage Valley Conference win. Nick Laskowsky went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI while Alex Khoury, who drove in 3 runs, and Alex Helms each added 3 hits. Jake Naumann improved to 8-2. Nick Linne, Wesley Webb, Marc Mantucca, Bobby Czarnowski and Anthony Lopez had 2 hits apiece for Naperville Central (20-13, 14-7).

Lake Park 17, Elgin 14: Artie Monaco homered twice, including a grand slam, and drove in 5 runs as the Lancers (9-23, 8-17) rallied from a 9-4 deficit in their Upstate Eight Conference win. Jake McNamara, Ben Coleman and Matt Kaiser also homered.

Bartlett 9, Neuqua Valley 4: Craig Provow and Alex Lincoln each had 2 hits for the Wildcats (22-11, 16-5) in their Upstate Eight Conference loss.

Larkin 5, Waubonsie Valley 3: Jonny Strauss had the only hit for the Warriors (17-13, 16-7) in their Upstate Eight Conference loss.

Glenbard South 13, Rochelle 1: The Raiders (18-16, 9-12) swept the Western Sun Conference series by winning all three games in five innings. David Suffern went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and 4 RBI. Joe Ramirez allowed 3 hits and no earned runs to win on the mound.

Willowbrook 18, Proviso West 4: Chris Savas homered and drove in 5 runs for the Warriors (23-9) in their nonconference win. Mike Elgeness went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Steve Cox improved to 4-2.

Hinsdale Central 10, St. Ignatius 0: David Kiyosaki (5-3) pitched a 2-hitter over 5 innings as the Red Devils (16-12) scored 9 third-inning runs to dominate the nonconference game. Steve Kraynak and Charlie Herr each went 3-for-3 while Josh Camalick and Alex Tufano launched home runs.

Wheaton Academy 14, Montini 13: The Warriors (20-9) trailed 13-7 after five innings but rallied for the nonconference win. Eric Albaugh and Sterling Witt, who drove in 6 runs, each had 2-run homers in the bottom of the seventh to win it. Jonathan Burdett (1-0) won the game in relief. Colin Meister homered twice for Montini (15-9).

Downers South 9, Oak Park 7: Jake Rone stayed unbeaten at 6-0 with a 6-inning pitching effort for the Mustangs (22-9) in their nonconference win. Dan Walsh, who homered, and Joey White each went 2-for-4.
