Elmhurst Choral Union invites singers to audition

Singers, start 2021 with an enjoyable resolution - get back to singing in a totally new experience.

Singers interested in challenging their vocal skills are invited to audition for Elmhurst Choral Union.

Membership is open to Chicago area singers with previous choral experience or the ability to read music.

Audition video submission deadline is Jan. 26.

Rehearsals begin virtually on Tuesday evening, Feb. 2.

Rehearsals will be virtual until in-person group singing is possible.

Elmhurst Choral Union is a volunteer chorus, performing classical masterworks and great choral music of all eras, usually with professional orchestra and soloists.

In nonpandemic times, the Elmhurst Choral Union rehearses and performs at Elmhurst University, where it has been based since its founding in 1952. Major concerts are held in Hammerschmidt Chapel on a Sunday in December and late April.

Elmhurst Choral Union offers singers the opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra, enhance your vocal technique and musical skills, and learn more about music theory or refine your home rehearsal methods.

Camaraderie: You'll be part of a singing family of diverse ages and backgrounds; sharing interests, learning from each other and growing as musicians together.
