New Year's Day snow could pay for December Volo Auto Museum visit

VOLO - Visit the Volo Auto Museum now through Christmas Eve and your admission could be on the house.

"If it snows 3 inches or more on New Year's Day, we'll refund the full admission price paid," said Brian Grams, director of the museum at 27582 Volo Village Road. "Just hang on to your tickets."

The snowfall measurement used will be that recorded between midnight and 11:59 p.m. Jan. 1, 2020, by the National Weather Service at O'Hare Airport in Chicago, Grams noted. Tickets purchased Dec. 1-24 will be eligible.

"There are dozens of great reasons to visit our museum, whether or not the snow flies Jan. 1," Grams said. "There's so much to see, including a vintage collection of snowmobiles dating back to 1923, mechanical orchestras, everything from Batman to Mickey and, of course, our always amazing collection of muscle and star cars."

Put it all together with the museum's perpetually festive atmosphere - plus a shot at recapturing the price of admission - and it's an especially enticing family outing this holiday season.

The Volo Auto Museum features roughly 400 classic, muscle and film-famous cars as well as numerous other rarities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Regular admission is $15.95 for adults, $8.95 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger.
