Adulting is Hard… Rediscover Your Inner Child at 21+ Museum Night

Let loose and seize this opportunity to play like a kid (without all the kids). The DuPage Children's Museum is being taken over by adults at the first 21+ Museum Night from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.

By day, the DuPage Children's Museum is brimming with kids, but for 21+ Museum Night it becomes a playground for adults to play and party.

Spend the evening exploring the Museum's hands-on exhibits along with extra activities just for grown-ups, including Boozy Makerspace, Paint Whatever the Heck You Want, Knock Your Blocks Off, Tattoo Yo' Self, Recycled Raft Racing, Giant Kerplunk, Hungry Hungry Humans, and more. Expect a night full of play, exploration, nostalgia, and fun while DJ BLK Soldier keeps the energy high!

"Play is not just for kids! We are really excited to open up the museum for this new experience. It's an opportunity to showcase the museum in a different light and potentially to a new audience that might not have the chance to visit normally … they don't have kids or if they do, they are more involved in what the kids are doing," said Thomas Sullivan, director of education and programs, DuPage Children's Museum.

The museum anticipates a diverse audience ranging from 20-somethings who remember visiting as children to parents who want a chance to play without the kids, and anyone just looking for a night to escape the realities of adulthood if only for a moment.

Tickets are $15 per person online. Purchase 10 or more tickets and receive a 20-percent discount.

Tickets will be $20 at the door as long as the event does not sell out in advance. Each ticket includes one free drink. Beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase and free finger foods will be available while supplies last. Purchase tickets online at dupagechildrens.org/21plus.

Community Partner for 21+ Museum Night is The Craftsman by Two Brothers.
