11 Restaurants To Compete In WACO's Wingfest
Who makes the best wings in the suburbs? A fundraising contest at the Woodfield Area Children's Organization's 15th Annual Wingfest and Bags Tournament later this month will answer that question.
Eleven area restaurants including Chef Vince's Zeal, Tap House Grill, Level 257, Uno Pizzeria and Grill, MT Barrels, Alley 64, Frato's, Rosati's on Wise, Clementi's, Finn McCool's and Moretti's will provide the wings from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 26 at Drink, 871 E. Algonquin Road, Schaumburg. This event is limited to adults 21 and over and is scheduled to happen, rain or shine.
Guests will vote for their favorite wings and several celebrity judges, including Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson, Hoffman Estates Mayor Mike McLeod and Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig, will decide which restaurant's wings are the "Best of the 'Burbs". The winning restaurant will receive a $250 grand prize.
Admission is $30 and includes wings and two drink tickets. Buy advance tickets, including reserved seating at www.wacowingfest.eventbrite.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. The bags tournament is sponsored by Schaumburg Toyota. The entry fee is $80 per team and includes two admissions. The first place team will split a $200 prize.
Music will be provided by Hooked on Sonics. The first 400 guests through the door will receive a souvenir Wingfest Koozie supplied by EmbroidMe.
