COD Center for Entrepreneurship Business Seminars

The Center for Entrepreneurship at College of DuPage will host seminars aimed at current and prospective business owners who wish to get established, improve their operations and increase sales.

All sessions will be held at the Center for Entrepreneurship, 2525 Cabot Dr., Suite 201, in Lisle.

“Using the iPad as a Business Tool”

This seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, on Tuesday, Oct. 1, and Wednesday, Nov. 13. Participants learn how to perform daily business tasks using an iPad, including how to design documents such as spreadsheets and presentations. In addition, this seminar will provide information on how to find and utilize Apps that support specific business objectives, as well as vital tips that will help you manage your workload more effectively.

Attendees can bring their iPads, though it is not required.

There is a $99 fee to attend this seminar.

“The Art of the Start: Launching Your Business in Illinois”

This free seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 30; from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20; and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Dec. 18. This seminar will provide attendees with a general overview for those who are considering entrepreneurship or business ownership. Participants will learn how to balance risks and rewards, compare organizational structures, identify appropriate business models and outline the purpose of an effective business plan. In addition, participants will learn nine simple steps toward creating a successful business.

This seminar is free and open to the public; however, registration is required.

Business Development Center (SBDC), Illinois International Trade Center (ITC) and Illinois Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), the Center offers no- or low-cost training, coaching and advising services for proprietors throughout DuPage County.
