Catchpenny Fall Open House set for Aug. 13

The Catchpenny, Advocate Good Shepherd's Resale Shoppe's Fall Open House and 40th anniversary sale will take place Monday, August 13 from 10 am until 6 pm. Catchpenny opened its doors in 1972 and remains in its downtown Barrington location today. Known for value-priced goods, Catchpenny, managed by the Auxiliary of Good Shepherd Hospital, continues to thrive and post record sales. The resale shop is the Auxiliary's largest moneymaker. The Catchpenny is located at 118 E. Main St., Barrington.

In the past 30 years, Catchpenny has raised over $2 million dollars for Good Shepherd Hospital. Catchpenny's staff of more than 75 volunteers work three to six hours a week. Many have volunteered at Catchpenny for over twenty years.

The shop features a variety of unique items including art work, clothing, jewelry, fashion accessories, books, home décor and house ware items. Take advantage of the shop's fine collection of resale items at a fair price.

“Three Open Houses take place each year, and customers line up around the block,” says Jan Broders, the Auxiliary Membership Chair and volunteer at the store. “The Catchpenny continues to raise money for Good Shepherd Hospital, while benefiting community members with resale items at a good price.”
