COD police officers lauded for exceptional response

College of DuPage Police Officers Al Silva (left) and Jeff Priest review the commendations they received on behalf of their efforts to help a student on campus. In March, Priest and Silva responded to a woman who was having difficulty breathing. The officers determined she was having an allergic reaction and found an EpiPen in her purse. Priest, a trained EMT, delivered the dose while Silva consoled the patient, who began to slowly recover before the paramedics arrived. Silva and Priest were recognized by Police Chief Joe Mullin before the Board of Trustees and thanked for their quick actions and contributions to the student's recovery.
