Hal Holbrook Performs as Mark Twain April 27 at the MAC

Reprising a role he originated in 1954 in an off-Broadway theater, actor Hal Holbrook brings his Tony Award-winning portrayal of Mark Twain to the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, at

8 p.m. Friday, April 27.

“Mark Twain Tonight” presents the wit and humor of the celebrated American writer and humorist. Holbrook, nominated for 2007 a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Oscar Award for “Into the Wild,” also portrayed Deep Throat in “All the President's Men” and has appeared in countless films and television shows throughout his lengthy career.

Holbrook recently published his autobiography, “Harold: The Boy Who Became Mark Twain.”

The April 27 performance features a free pre-show MAC Chat.

Tickets to “Mark Twain Tonight” are $60 for adults, $58 for seniors and $50 for College of DuPage students and youth. First- and second-row tickets are $85 for adults, $83 for seniors and $75 for College of DuPage students and youth.
