WDCB 90.9 FM at College of DuPage Receives $12,387 Grant

This funding will be used to support operations, programming and public service initiatives for WDCB 90.9 FM. The station at College of DuPage is one of 25 Illinois public radio and television stations to receive this funding.

WDCB began its 35th anniversary season in July of this year. With a focus on jazz, local news and a variety of specialty music, educational and cultural programs, WDCB is the only fully jazz-focused station in the Chicago market – the number three media market in the U.S.

The WDCB news department has received numerous Associated Press awards, as well as the Peter Lisagor Award for Exemplary Journalism. The station maintains between 160,000 and 205,000 weekly listeners, who average seven hours tuned in to the station. The 5,000-watt signal and 24-hour noncommercial format reaches the entire Chicago metro market, including a substantial portion of northeast Illinois into Indiana.
