College of DuPage Hosts Culinary and Hospitality Management Open House March 6

College of DuPage is hosting an open house for the Culinary and Hospitality Management program for District 502 high school juniors and seniors and their parents on Tuesday, March 6.

The free event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. in the College's new 60,000 square-foot Culinary & Hospitality Center. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the facility and will also receive information about programs at COD that prepare students for careers in hospitality management, culinary, baking and pastry arts.

This open house is being planned by COD students currently enrolled in the Professional Banquet and Catering Management class. These students, along with alumni, staff and industry professionals, will be on hand that evening to discuss COD's program and career possibilities.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the LEED-constructed CHC, which has five kitchens, a chocolate room, a fine dining professionally-run restaurant and student-run cafe, a bake shop and culinary market, a chocolate room, and a six-room boutique hotel on premises.

Students will learn about the dynamics of coursework, projects and internships that set COD's programs apart from the rest and will have an opportunity to sample delicious and unique creations made by current Culinary Arts students.

Please RSVP with the name and number of guests by Friday, March 2, 2012, at chcopenhouse@gmail.com. For questions or more information, contact Hotel and Lodging Management Professor Mary Beth Leone at (630) 942-2059 or email leonem@cod.edu.
