Jim Peterik and World Stage at the MAC Jan. 13

When Jim Peterik calls his friends for a jam session, patrons of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, get to spend an evening with some of the best musicians around.

In a career spanning more than three decades, Peterik co-wrote songs for Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar, Brian Wilson and REO Speedwagon. Also a successful solo artist, Peterik draws on years of experience and musical collaboration to create a unique rotating list of artists for Jim Peterik and World Stage.

The Berwyn native continues this collaboration, bringing a new mix of artists to the MAC Mainstage for an 8 p.m. concert on Friday, Jan. 13.

Peterik, co-founder of Survivor and member of chart-topping The Ides of March, is best known for his hit song “Vehicle” with The Ides and “Eye of the Tiger,” which he co-wrote for “Rocky II.”

Recent guests include Kelly Keagy and Jack Blades of Night Ranger; Mindi Abair from the “American Idol” band; Rik Emmet of Triumph; Ray Parker Jr.; Cathy Richardson; and former Santana singer Alex Ligertwood.

Tickets to Jim Peterik and World Stage are $55 for adults, $53 for seniors and $45 for College of DuPage students and children age 17 and younger. First- and second-row tickets are $80 for adults, $78 for seniors and $70 for College of DuPage students and youth.
