Wayne Messmer Joins WDCB 90.9 FM at College of DuPage

Chicago Cubs announcer and National Anthem aficionado Wayne Messmer has joined WDCB 90.9 FM at College of DuPage, where he is hosting a new jazz program at the station.

“I am so glad to get back to my musical roots. Like WDCB, ‘Homelife Jazz with Wayne Messmer' focuses on the great tradition of respecting the music,” Messmer said. “I've always been a fan of WDCB, and

I'm very proud to contribute my musical experiences to this station.”

Homelife Jazz with Wayne Messmer airs Sundays on WDCB from 6 to 7 p.m., and draws from Wayne's lifetime of musical experiences as a singer, performer, speaker, author and broadcaster. During the program, Messmer blends his warm personality with jazz standards, cabaret, and Broadway classics, adding his own observations of the world around us and offering provocative thoughts on where and how

we live.

“The addition of Wayne Messmer furthers WDCB's commitment to local, relevant, jazz programming,” said Scott Wager, general manager of WDCB. “We are extremely pleased to have Wayne join our team of exceptional hosts.”

Messmer's latest CD, “So Lucky to Be Loving You,” is scheduled for release in December 2011 and features the accompaniment of multiple-Grammy nominated jazz pianist Judy Roberts underscoring Wayne's vocals.
