Boys soccer/Fox Valley roundup

Tony Escamilla recorded a goal and assisted on an Erik Rodriguez goal to help lead Larkin’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 Upstate Eight River win over Streamwood Tuesday.

Tony Hernandez picked up the assist on Escamilla’s goal while Santiago Guerrero recorded 6 saves in goal for Larkin (8-3-2, 1-0-1).

The Sabres’ (2-11-1, 0-3) lone goal came off the foot of Mario Rodriguez on an assist from Ivan Vivero. Jose Resendiz knocked away 8 shots on goal.

Westminster Christian 2, IMSA 0: The Warriors (6-2-1, 3-0) took a 1-0 lead into the half and never looked back as they defeated IMSA at home. Josh Beachler and Tim Rogers each recorded a goal while DeShawn Bloom added 2 assists. Sam Carani was busy in goal as he turned away 22 shots on goal to preserve the shut out.Harvest Christian Academy 10, IMSA JV 0: The Lions dominated from the opening kickoff as they found the back of the 5 times in the first half of play. Connor Kearns paced the Lions offensively as he notched 5 goals. Chris Desouza, Stuart Wolff, Jake Adams, Andrew Hempel, and Luis Pareda each added a goal of their own. Patrick McGuire and Luke Agase shared time in goal to earn the shut out.

South Elgin 1: Metea Valley 1: The Storm (5-3-3, 0-2-2) found themselves down 1-0 at halftime, but mounted a comeback to earn a tie in Upstate Eight Valley action. Spencer Scott scored the lone goal for the Storm off an assist from Bret Hildebrandt. Jarod Schieler recorded 5 saves in goal.Crystal Lake South 2, Prairie Ridge 1: The Gators (9-5) played the Wolves tight in the first half before coming from behind to tally 2 goals in the second half to earn the FVC Valley victory. Renato Albuquerque found the back of the night off a feed from Sam Murdock to get the Gators on the board while Charlie Oliver scored the game-winner on a Charlie Ruff assist. Steve Follmer turned away 4 shots on goal for the Gators.

McHenry 2, Jacobs 0: The Golden Eagles (7-7, 0-7) fell behind 1-0 after the first half of play and could not recover as they were defeated in this Fox Valley Valley game at home. Nick Matysek recorded 4 saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.
