Glenbard South 7, Illiana Christian 5:With the win the Raiders (18-10, 14-3) will play Illiana Christian on Thursday in Glen Ellyn in a winner-take-all showdown for the Metro Suburban Conference title. Glenbard South scored 6 runs in the first inning, starting the game with 8 straight hits. Justin Joseph, Ethan Gasbarro, Ben Gaspar and Billy Strohl each had 3 hits. Brian Suffern improved to 7-1 on the mound.Wheaton North 4, Glenbard East 3:The Falcons (21-8, 16-5) clinched the outright DuPage Valley Conference title by sweeping the Rams (11-18, 8-12). Wheaton North scored 3 runs in the sixth and a run in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie as Jake Schieber, Micah Penn, Dale Trimble and Ryan Jordan, who homered, each drove in a run. Jeff Schalk picked up the win and Craig Berberich pitched the seventh to earn the save. Pat Walsh went 2-for-3 for Glenbard East.Glenbard North 2, Naperville Central 1:The Panthers (20-10, 14-7) pulled out the DuPage Valley Conference win despite managing only 2 hits. Winning pitcher Matt Frawley scattered 7 hits in a complete-game effort and also doubled and drove in a run. Conor Philbin and Ian Lewandowski had 2 hits apiece for Naperville Central (19-12, 14-7).Naperville North 10, West Chicago 5:The Huskies (10-18, 7-14) scored all their runs in the final three innings of their DuPage Valley Conference win. Tyler Gehr doubled and had 2 RBI. Tommy Krone had 2 hits for West Chicago (10-19, 5-15).WW South 10, West Aurora 0:Steve Lemm pitched a 5-inning 4-hitter for the Tigers (17-13, 13-8), who completed a three-game DuPage Valley Conference sweep. Kevin Bridges went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI while R.J. Hoshell homered and drove in 3 runs. Neuqua Valley 10, East Aurora 0:Tomas Michelson allowed only 1 hit in 4 innings and Alex Bucz added a hitless fifth inning as the Wildcats (20-9, 12-9-1) won in the Upstate Eight Valley. Nick Iarrobino, who homered, and Andrew Skowronski each drove in 2 runs. Montini 12, CICS Northtown 1:Winning pitcher Ben Dobosenski and Jared Jayne had 2 RBI apiece for the Broncos (15-13) in their nonconference win. Brendan Loftus went 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored.Willowbrook 5, Andrew 0:Zac Venchus improved to 4-2 with a 3-hitter as the Warriors (16-12) won the nonconference road game.
