6th Annual Dave Fehlman Memorial Senior All-Star Game set for Monday

The Sixth Annual Dave Fehlman Memorial Senior All-Star softball game will be held Monday night June 15 at Jockey Field in East Dundee.

The game is sponsored by the Fox Valley Renegades, the Northern Illinois Lightning, Fox Valley Sports Academy, Rachel Clark of Feeny Chrsyler Dodge Jeep, and supported by the Daily Herald.

The nine-inning game begins at 6 p.m. and an MVP award is presented to one player from each team.

The game is named in memory of Dave Fehlman, a former president of the Renegades and an avid supporter of fastpitch softball. Fehlman passed away late in the summer of 2007. His daughter Lissa, a former Renegade and Lightning player who was also the honorary co-captain of the 2005 Daily Herald All-Area softball team, just completed a standout four-year softball career at Evansville University.

Coaches for this year's game will be Jason Schaal of South Elgin and Scott Busam of Crystal Lake South.

The roster for Schaal's South team includes Pam Somer and Rebecca Reinbold of St. Charles East, Kristina Barrutia, Christine Roggemann and Shelly Crerar of St. Charles North, Caris Alan of Elgin, Layla Ismajlaj, Kimberly Pierce, Cary Thereon and Lauren Vitiello of South Elgin, Leah Rybakowski of Larkin, Elizabeth Kay and Rachael Anello of Bartlett, Vicki Tomaka and Alexis Munaco of Lake Park, Deirdre Phalon, Nikki Davis and Danielle Caprile of Geneva and Chassidy Mangers of Kaneland.

Busam's North team includes Mackenzie Scott, Kayla Oranger, Brittany Priest and Lindsay Lange of Class 3A Final Four qualifier Burlington Central, Megan Smith and Stephanie Werner of St. Edward, Samantha Hardie, Kaitlin Hardie, Megan Hardie and Emily Mahoney of CL South, Erika Trojan of Prairie Ridge, Alex Albanese, Deana DeBoscherre, Sarah Clancy and Samantha Clemons of Huntley, Megan Roadcap of Hampshire, Melissa Summaria of Dundee-Crown, Katie Berg and Jen Wirth of Cary-Grove, Cassy Bencal of Jacobs.

Jaci Corn and Courtney LaFerle, both former Renegades and current players on the Lightning 18 & over team, will umpire the game.

Admission is free, the concession stand will be open, and a 50-50 raffle will be held to help defray the cost of the game.

Jockey Field, the home of the Renegades, is located at 324 East Third Street in East Dundee.
