Girl Scout Troop 99 hosts women's panel on leadership
"Girls! Your voice matters! Stand up. Be heard!"
This was the central message to a recent women's panel organized by Troop 99 in Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois' Pottawatomie Service Unit.
Girl Scouts from both Pottawatomie and Blackhawk Service Units were invited to attend to the March 19 event.
The event was a rousing success with 100 girls in attendance as eight successful women took to the stage to talk in-depth about eight different career choices.
The Girl Scouts were encouraged to speak up and ask questions. This opportunity is central to the Girl Scout mission. Girls deserve a girl-led platform that fully supports them in their leadership experience!
Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is proud of Troop 99 for being active go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders in their community!

Now, they are nearly 20,000 strong - 15,000 girls and 5,000 adults who believe every girl can change the world. The girls develop leadership skills in 16 counties including parts or all of Boone, Carroll, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago.
