Hoops for Hope 3v3 Basketball Tournament

Grayslake, IL--Hoops for Hope has earned a reputation as being one of the most exciting and rewarding basketball tournaments in Lake County. With an average of more than 100 teams (approx. 500 players) competing each year, we provide a chance for kids from 4th grade- adults to organize a team, and participate in a two-day event with a minimum guarantee of five games.

Early discounted registration (through March 1) is now open for this year's tournament, which will be held on Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18 at Grayslake North High School. Registration closes March 11. The spirit of the games is to create a FUN atmosphere with an ability for friends to play some Hoops together. All proceeds go towards 12 Oaks Foundation. Players/teams can also opt to raise additional funds through a peer-to-peer fundraising program! Participants who raise $100 in donations (excludes any registration fees) will receive a complimentary Wilson NCAA replica indoor/outdoor basketball.

12 Oaks Foundation was established in memory of Grayslake resident Matthew Hupp, who died of Burkitt's Lymphoma in 2009 at age 13. Matt loved playing sports and developed many of his strengths through team participation. After his death, they decided to create a charity to help give other kids similar opportunities. Using funds raised through events like Hoops for Hope, 12 Oaks provides grants for sports and other programs for children in families experiencing temporary financial hardship related to ongoing cancer treatment within the family. The foundation has given away over $200,000 to families battling cancer throughout Illinois and Wisconsin since 2010.
