St. Edward Tidal Wave celebrating 28 years April 8

St. Edward Central Catholic High School will host the annual Tidal Wave fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Stonegate Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates.

The theme of the event will be "Lights, Camera, Auction." Lori Ann and John Pettey are chairing this 28th annual benefit. Head football coach Mike Rolando and wife, Theresa, are serving as honorary chairmen.

Glen Theriault will be recognized as the Alum of the Year. He is a graduate of the class of 1990 and currently is the police chief in Sycamore, after serving several years with the Elgin Police Department. This award is presented to an alum to recognize his/her accomplishments and contributions for the betterment of the community.

Kerry O'Brien will receive the St. Gregory the Great award for his dedication to St. Edward high school students though his role as primary guidance counselor for many years at the school.

Azar Jewelers, located in the Arboretum in South Barrington and Geneva Commons, will receive the Patron of the Year award at the event.

Jim Perkins will receive the Loyal Order of St. Edward award for his continuous involvement and support of the school and its programs.

The silent auction opens at 5:30 p.m. with electronic bidding and social hour. Dinner, raffles and auction will follow.

Special entertainment will be provided by the award-winning band Soda!
